2010…The start of a new decade! This is going to be a great year for the members of FPA of the Gold Coast. We offer education, the opportunity to meet and share ideas and expand friendships. It will be a year of exciting opportunities, growth and experiences. YOUR chapter is only great when members like you participate.
As your new president, I am humbled when I think of the awesome responsibility that we have to each other and to our clients. As a group we can help each other to expand our ideas and experience. Personally, I look to guidance from our Past-Presidents and Chairpersons, Leslie McCullough and Deb Rathbun to lead me through the quagmire of this new job as your 2010 President. I think it’s important to mention, however, that I also will rely on you to help me: to grow our organization and I welcome you to bring to my personal attention any issues or ideas that you may have.
Our first chapter event for the new decade is February 17. Our programs committee has lined-up two exceptional speakers. The first Melissa Lader Barnhardt, JD, LLM addressing Special Needs Trusts. The second is is John Rice who will discuss Modern Portfolio Theory: has the turbulence in the market disproved MPT? This is a must-attend for all advisors! These two sessions have been approved for a total of 3 hours of continuing education credit from CFP Board, American College (PACE). Three united for Registered Financial Consultants.
These sessions are just an example of the very exciting upcoming continuing education opportunities offered to you by your FPA of the Gold Coast for 2010. I hope you can join us for all of them. I look forward to seeing you very soon!
